The Problem
Users want to interact with specialists (Experts) who can answer their questions.
Competitor analysis
I conducted a thorough competitor analysis on two products: Ask an Expert and Snaffwho.
The competitive analysis provided me with insights into what might resonate more with the target group and ultimately taught me how to build a better product.
User Personas
Based on research and competitor analysis of real people who would use a service like this, I created two user personas.
By creating user personas, I was able to focus on user motivations, attitudes, and challenges.
USER JOURNEY
I made user journey maps to help me visualize the steps a user would take to complete a task and empathize with how they might be feeling during those steps.
User Task Flow
Based on research and competitor analysis of real people who would use a service like this, I created two user personas.
By creating user personas, I was able to focus on user motivations, attitudes, and challenges.
Low-fidelity wireframe
I began wire-framing with paper and pencil to get a rough idea of how I envisioned EXPERT.
Mid-fidelity wireframe
Later, I used Balsamiq to convert those low-fidelity wireframes to mid-fidelity.
High-fidelity wireframe
Once I had a better understanding of EXPERT,I translated all my wireframes into high-fidelity wireframes using Sketch
Conducting usability tests
Usability testing
I was able to gain a better understanding of how users interact with apps by conducting usability tests.
